Hallo mensen.

Ik ben paar keer op het forum geweest om raad te vragen over een aantal nare dingen betreffende mij MGF.

Inmiddels heb ik de F ingeruild voor een TF: een VVC 160 uit 2003.

Ben erg tevreden met deze wagen. De auto heeft vele extras en houdt van doorrijden

Zijn erg nog mensen met 160 VVC TF'jes ?

Weet iemand van jullie hoe je VVC rattle verhelpt? Is het slecht voor de motor?

- Wat meer olie bijvoegen.
De "rattle" treed dus op als het olieniveau wat gezakt is.

- MS heeft echter een kit dit dit probleem zou kunnen verhelpen, zegt hij :

No this is not a new toy but a modification to quieten the 'rattle' associated with the VVC units.
After driving these cars for over 7 years the noise associated with the VVC units can become annoying to say the least. The usual response from the official sources are 'They all do that Sir, nothing to worry about'. Well maybe so but it is sure annoying when the car sounds like a diesel. Without going into the reasons for and why sufficient to say is that IMO the lubrication is lacking and I have developed a modification to alleviate this.The modification requires the cam carrier to be removed and the cost is mainly labour as the new parts are only pence. The mod may not 'cure' units that have become noisy but the additional lubrication will help with the longevity of the parts and at start up will give a constant oil supply rather than relying on the existing method.
Cost for this mod is £195.00 plus vat and can only be done at our workshops.

Andere olie zou ook kunnen helpen. Ik heb er vol synthetische olie inzitten, en die hoor je eigenliojk niet ratelen.

Dit komt naturlijk door de viscositeit. Hoe minder dik de olie, hoe minder kans op tikken. Ook half synth. olie tikt niet meer eens ze wat op temperatuur is gekomen. Ik opteer echter ook voor volledig synthetishe olie, maar als er zelfs hier wat te wienig van is in het blok, tikt het vvc mechanisme dus alsnog.

Ben ik helemaal met je eens Bruno. Ik ging er alleen vanuit dat het oliepeil goed is.
