One particularly effective upgrade is a cam change, both the 1.6 and 1.8 K engines benefit from fitment of better cams, the Piper BP270 cams or the older 623 grind can be used very effectively but I would recommend the fitment of verniers to accurately time the exhasut cam and retain a perfect idle, these can boost the peak power by 10BHP or more with a corresponding increase in torque, the engine also feels much more willing to rev. Coupled with other bolt on mods such as an improved airfilter and exhaust some satisfying gains can be made.
