The curve looks right regarding the shape but after porting and flowing a 160 head + fitting the piper exhaust cam I would expect at least 170bhp up to 180bhp @ crankshaft. Possibly there is a problem with the timing of the VVC mech or the connectors of the solenoids are the wrong way round ?

Well filled up to the brim for the first time the car today since all the workwas done, showing 1/3rd of a tank left. After putting in 49 litres I stoped, went to drivers side to move car to pay and found about 18liters on the ground. Checked every thing from the top and cannot find anything wet, put car on hoist and every hole under tank area ozing fuel.......... this isn't going to be cheap!

Be VERY careful with fire and sparks when having such problems. It would not be the first F to burst into flames due to a bad fuelpipe connection.

Maybe this can help a bit:

I bet the fuel feed hose (rubber) to the tank has cracked or has slipped off.

Bruno has a "spare" tank if that's the problem. (don't know about p&p ;) Not difficult to remove it just takes some time because you will have to remove tbar, centre console and both seats.

I doubt that the fuel tank is corroded, I think that something was not put back properley when the fuel pump was replaced. Thats what I hope! and that becomes the workshops responcibilty, well I can hope.
As well as removing half the interior they also have to remove my roll cage along with all the other bits, there is just enough room to undo the cover for the fuel pump, the engine cover is cut along the bottom 1/3rd and a piano hing attached so that it can be pulled of for servicing. The reinforcment bar goes the length of the bay from seat belt mounting to seat belt mounting right across all the openings.

Well it was somthing simple. The big black rubber seal had expanded ( how or why?) where the fuel pump goes in, so when filled with fuel to the brim or throwing it around tight bends the fuel leaked out. We hope the new seal fixed it, just a residuale smell of petrol remains.

Well it's been a while and since fitting the new head, I have not done an event that lets me compare old from new. Today we were at Sandown where we had a super sprint and standing 1/4's and so far I dont have the final results.
One thing the car pulls much harder than before and having the chance to compare against an early cup car that has just been upgraded with a Dave Andrews head, removal of VVC bits, individual throttle bodys plus a new adjustable management system in a straight line we were neck a nd neck BUT with his much better and sorted suspension on the twisty bits left me behind, thats the next project. When I get the lap times I will show the comparison of before and after.
As I left the track for the last time today, forth sesion, my F developed a miss, back to the workshop tomorrow, when all the work was done new plug leads and plugs were fitted so that should not be the problem..........

2.00pm 12th. Took the F to the work shop still missing but nothing rattling from the engine, took the engine cover off removed plugs did a compresion check, nill on number three. Looking down the " plug holes " could not see anything amiss ie big hole in the piston. Have to wait till Thursday before they can give it a fuller examination.

Well they looked at it a week later and it was a broken valve about the third of the way up. I pressume it happened on a downward gear changeand as the rev limiter onlyworks on the way up...........

So a new valve and clip, head gasket, 8 hours labour and away I go again.
