=======================================
Hi all,
With the current UK weather I feel I need to give you an update on
the MGFest situation. It is still going ahead and Billing Aquadrome is quite
untroubled by the weather, the ground in fact is quite firm. However where
we should have been is unusable because it was damaged last week so we have
relocated to a different area with a slight plan change forced upon us on
Monday.
The roads are still OK, I have suggested a route for you from Dover via the
M20, M25 (west via Heathrow)M40, A43 to Junction 15A of the M1 then south to
Junction 15 and Billing is signposted from there. If you are being led by
your sat-nav, don't allow it to take you up the M1, there are major
roadworks between the M25 and Junction 8, you will be there for a long time.
I have attached a rough sketch of the Billing area for you to find your way
to the hotel when you arrive.
If you are arriving from the M1/A45 you will arrive at the small roundabout
by the BP petrol station, currently 97.9p per litre. There is also a hand
car wash there if you want someone to clean your car for you. Turn right
there and the hotel is 200 metres on the left, picture 1. I suggest you
leave your cars there as you will be charged £10 day entry if you drive in
to Billing, there is nothing we can do about that unfortunately.
If you wish to join us on the events field you can walk in for nothing, so I
believe, you can collect a Site Plan from the office by the main entrance, I
have attached a plan we have made to show you where our new site is, the one
we were to have used is not available any more. During the evening we will
be in the Billing Mill pub, picture 2, where meals are 2 for £10 and the
sizes are quite large, so be hungry.
If you have any problems don't hesitate to call me.
Have a safe journey, I'll see some of you at Kempenrit this weekend.
Adrian
