How would you typically calibrate that? I know Bruno did his during a rolling road test end just kept adjusting until he got the best performance result. Will you do the same? Or is there an alternative?

Well the workshop got busy and as my car was not on the urgent list, it was left until the last moment :( and nothing had been done. The only trouble was that I decided to do a motorkhana on the saturday so I retrived my car but with one difference. I had complained of a rattle from my exhaust, it was descoverd that my catalist had disintergrated so a pipe was welded through it making it a de-catted F, this coupled with a Miltek SS exhaust. I now have the loudest F in Australia  which is causing a problem or two as it's even more than the 95 decibel limit for race tracks. As our National Meet is only just over a week away, I have left all modifications till the first week of May except if I can find one , a new/secondhand cat'.

I am sure Bruno and/or Sander will pop in to help you with the dowels. I haven't got them myself (set of veniers on the shelf), but they have them on their cars.

Well have just got the F back, had another minor set back, after fitting the FPR it would not pull, after pulling their hair out the workshop found the fuel pump had given up. I have a half roll cage, this componded the problem as it had to come out to get to the fuel pump. To get the cage out the seats have to come out. The O.E pump is expensive over here but we found a Bosch high presure one that was built for a Holden Commadore Turbo at the cost of only $100. I have only driven 15km so far, noticed more torque and a car that pulls all the way to the rev limiter. The real proof will be at the weekend when I go to a hill climb http://vimeo.com/1460777 .
Has it been worth it, I will let you know next week.

A bit of a strange thing that the fuel pump gives up, just after some work has been done on a FPR. Are you sure they didn't screw up.
If the fuel pump is suspected, you may never forget to have a look at the connector on top of the pump. Some of them desintegrate in a rather spectacular way.

My car a 98 MG F VVC has done 161000km so I was not surprised that it packed up when asked to do more, and at least I should not have a problem in that area for a while ( fingers crossed). Today I hav e just returned from a quick blast of 100km on all types of road to see what she can do, the exhaust is much deeper in sound and the power from 5000 to 7250, well it just PULLS and PULLS using an exhaust gas analiser the FPR is showing4.1bar on the dial. Tomorrow I am getting just a pwer dyno test done to get an idea whats at the rear wheels and then I hope the weather stays nice for the hillclimb at the weekend.

That will be 122bhp, at the wheels I suppose.
Resulting in a 141bhp at the flywheel.

Is there a chance you could post the graph, as top power doesn't say much ?

141 BHP at the flywheel, about as much as the VVC, but possibly much better spreading around the RPM range.
The non-vvc has much better torque, so the figure sounds interesting.

Eager to see the graph too!

Have a great time at the Hillclimb this weekend! (some pictures are always welcomed :-) )
