MGFest Application Form

Bruce schreefColonik heb een geweldige tijd gehad.. we waren dan ook met een zeer gezellige groep, vind je ook niet, Lord fart a lot?

Naturally we (mgf.be) have put our thoughts together during the more refreshing hours of a beautifull summer evening, as I did expect such a thread on this forum. But first of all I want to express my personal thanks to the MGFest07 organisational team. You did a great job.
Points seen from a 'helper on the field':
- although I had printed out the schedule, it was great to know there was an official one sticked to a wall all weekend. Maybe this type of 'last minute' communication must be extended, as it is a very easy way to communicate latest changes, .... Go even further, make an advalvas that shows (temp.) results of all the contests that are happening. Get a PC/laptop and printer on site and you are solved. Put a laminator (you know the thing that put a sheet of paper in a plastic, by applying heat) and you have some fancy signs in just a few minutes.
- 2 x 30min and 1 hour on duty ain't bad at all.... allthough checking blue things around wrists at the MG bar wasn't too easy ;o)
Points seen as a visitor
- Dinner on Friday night went wrong as the Billing Mill Pub was closed for maintenance, we were asked to hurry to the supermarket and some us did make it to the grass field for some food, other's were lost and returned to the restaurant near the Hotel.
- The Hotel was fine enough.... After all it's just for a short stay and the event is outside ;o)
- Billing Aquadrome: the theory looked good and I completely understand why the organisational team has chosen for Billing. However it really is something else 'in real life'. Try to imagine what people think about the Brits when they are staying in your country for the first time . . . During the walk back from the MG Bar, to the field and back to the Hotel, one of us was defied/provoced (sp?) by a drunk man. The morning after we heard about some fights and saw a car driven into the water by drunk people.... Thank God it was just water that stopped their mad journey and not one of our cars or even worse a camping tent.
- I used the camping facility once and was happy the Hotel was in a walking distance. I heared more complaints about this from others of mgf.be
- The food on Saturday evening was a joke and we would have prefered more tables and chairs. Afterall we had been standing and walking all day. Music was fine, allthough we prefered to be outside the marquee for some more chatting amongst friends.
- Parking cars per region is fine, especially if they have done the effort for doing something special (thumbs up for East Anglia and their cars going cheap as chips)... however we do feel a bit sorry for all those nice cars that were not allowed on the field.
- Traders: no complaints, we all found our goodies and spent some well earned cash.
- Cars on display: the idea is perfect, but we would have prefered more 'typical'/genuine cars if they need to represent a special edition.
- Contests: really fun once you are into them.... but see my previous note about the results at an ad valvas.
Total Roundup: Great event, we look forward for MGFest08, as that one will be massive.
