BTCC issues 2013 race dates
Britain’s premier motor racing championship – the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship – has issued its race dates for 2013.

The calendar will again consist of 30 races at ten events (three races at each) at the UK’s top motor sport venues.

Furthermore the BTCC’s geographical reach – it will be in action in no fewer than nine counties – will continue to make it accessible for the vast majority of the population and provide high-profile nationwide and localised marketing opportunities for teams, sponsors and partners.

All ten events will once more be covered live by the ITV network on its ITV4 and ITV4 HD channels as well as the www.itv.com website.

I have been asked if Easter is good for the event. It will be a good idea is it's a four day weekend but usually hotels, ferries etc are more expensive, what do you think ?

You will need the Friday off work as that's the day I would like you to arrive, you can be home on Sunday evening or Monday if you prefer Easter).

I had been thinking about the weekend after Easter, Adrian. Some of us are on seasonal registration, which usually starts 1 April, which is Easter Monday. With just four days off work, the event could be combined with a week's trip before the "real thing".

What do the others think?

The weekend after Eastern like Mykel suggested would suit us probably better.
But it’s always hard to predict
Fact is the sooner we get the dates the better.

Unless anybody comes up with a good objection I will announce April 5th - 7th and work to those dates.

I will organise two hotels, one Friday and one Saturday. Now I have a date I will work on Southend Airport (close to your second hotel) for a possible airside tour of the Avro Vulcan.

Luc (and others) what time train/ferry would you prefer ?, this will help me plan our meet up (Clackett Lane services, south side of the M25, one hour from Dover) and then on to the first hotel.

Hard to plan my holidays as short term booking are very familiar to my company and my kind of business. So in short: everything is ok for me, and no need to know this in advance
Of course I understand that you have to plan and order everything well before the actual date, I guess this is what "normal" people do

It usually makes our stay in the UK more expensive, but we prefer to arrive near our destination in the late evening the day before. We were a bit annoyed with traffic jams all day long and taking a day off work to sit in a traffic jam.

I am not saying everyone should travel on Thursday, but if we're comming over there is a big chance we'll arrive just a bit earlier and enjoy a relaxed Friday morning.
