STARS RUN FOR MG XPOWER SV IN CANNES
At the Cannes film festival this week, Box Office Films announced that the new $10m action adventure movie 'RUN' would feature the MG XPower SV supercar alongside stars RICK YUNE (The Fast and the Furious, Die another Day) and SIMON WEBBE of pop band Blue, who is making his feature film debut.
The MG XPower SV is a pure race-bred, thrilling modern V8 powered Supercar, built from technically advanced light-weight composites. The character of the car fully supports the excitement of the new film and with a sales order book full for the next six months, the SV is clearly going to appeal.
Filming will commence in July 2004 on director Andy Morahan's (Highlander III: The Sorcerer, Tales From the Crypt) adrenaline-fuelled action adventure "RUN", and is based on an original screenplay entitled Ironman by Bob Boris and adapted by Craig Blake-Jones.
RICK YUNE heads the cast in the lead role of Harry "Mac" McKenna, an American bounty hunter who hits the streets of modern urban England searching for the truth only to find a non-stop nitrous-injected world, a beautiful but mysterious woman and more truth than he ever bargained for.
Joining Yune is SIMON WEBBE of pop band Blue in the role of "Ringa" and STEVE HART.
Produced by Craig Blake-Jones and Graham Kelly for Box Office Films, "RUN" will shoot for 10 weeks in the UK and Russia and is budgeted at $10million.
Note to Editors:
MG Sport & Racing Limited produces two versions of the high performance sports car - the MG XPOWER SV (320hp 4.6-litre V8 ) and the MG XPOWER SV-R (385hp 5.0-litre V8 ).
The cars can accelerate from standstill to 60mph in less than 5 seconds. Top speed is circa 175mph/282km/h. The modifications to the engine give a significant increase in power from the 320hp of the SV to 385hp in the SV-R. At the same time, the extra engine capacity gives a massive increase in torque from 410Nm to 510Nm for awesome mid range performance.
To keep the power under control, the SV is fitted with larger diameter Brembo brake discs, 18" alloy wheels and a body aggressively styled by Peter Stevens.
The high tech vehicle features F1 inspired carbon fibre composite body construction, double wishbone race-developed suspension, remote elemetry with security tracking and full harness inertia seat belts.
Every SV is individually built to personal customer order and prices for the SV start from just £65,750. SV-R prices start from £82,950, before customer preference options and accessories are specified.
