My high KM F VVC is a 97/8 model which I have owned for 6 years. In our club competition I have been the third placed F for most of the past five years.
It was time to give the old girl a lift. I have two sets of Trophy 16" alloys, one set for road one track and AP 4 pot calipers. A Trophy 160 cylinder head is being cleaned and ported, Piper BP270H and Dave Andrews offset dowels. The exhaust manifold will be left as standard due to local rules but with a Miltek SS exhaust. All this being feed via a 52mm TB and Taipan Cold air induction. I have run poly bushes, lowering knuckles and adjustable shocks for the past five years. The car has a half roll cage and 4 point harness.
So maybe I can keep up with TF160's.
Tyres are a problem, no not road but track, there are no 195/45 plenty 205/55x16", no 215/40 x 16" but 205/55 or 225/45x16". The 55 profile is to high and a 225/45 is towide for a 7" rim. As my first competition event for this year on 8th Feb is close, Iwill run Toyo R1R 205/45x16 www.toyo.com.au/Proxes%20R1R%20Press%20Release.htm

Hello Andrew, welcome.

Strange rules overthere regarding the manifold. Changing the exhaust and the head, but keeping the manifold. Is there a possibility to tweak the original manifold. I am sure, they (those who serve the law) won't notice....

If I use a 4 -2 -1 manifold the car becomes a special so I move up a class. I also have a Quaife LSD but to be honest I don't think it offers a lot. If you go to Rob Bells site you can see pictures of my car in his Chamber of Horrors section.

Well I have the Toyo R1R's they look fantastic, but seem very soft. Have only driven about 30km, just to the workshop to get the other bits done, and they felt fine. Our temp has been in the 40C + range but I hope by the weekend the temp will come down so the track won't be that hot. It looks like I will be bedding every thing in on the way, never enough time. Will let you know how the car feels and go's next week.

Nice and hot is good for the tyre... haha you should atleast get a 100 km out of them.. a friend lives in Adelade and it was 45.7 last week.. I can't even emagine how hot that would be, my max is 41 and that was killing...

Temp tomorrowis ment to be 47C the hottest February day on record and Sunday should be 37C at the track.
Disapointment, went to collect my car only to find the new head and cam have not been fitted. The cam was to tight in the carrier and had been sent away to be linned bored and had not been done in time, infact finished today but not leaving enough time to be completed as I will be leaving very early to beat the heat tomorrow. My mechanic is worried that the standard mems computer might not be up to the job as the head has been gasflowed and might run to lean, we won't know this until we can run it on the road using the gas analizer.
The four pot brakes using EBC rotors and red stuff pads are just brilliant, so with good tyres and brakes I will try and set a PB without power but on handling.

Lots of success with your project
Keep up the good faith
